Passion for the subject in your own personal life such as newspapers, magazines you subscribe to that feature this topic. Any time in which you took a personal interest in politics in your locale, group gatherings, events, discussion groups. You want to show proactive passion/knowledge in current affairs. If you participated in a rally...etc.

While I would agree that we're in trouble if we're fighting the battle of punctuality and hygiene -- are we? There's another way to consider this: that former Secretary Chao has an enormous disdain for low-income workers and the value of the work that they do. Not saying that's it, but you have to wonder when this is where she chooses to focus her attention.
