list any college courses you may have taken regarding the subject, any political organizations/events you have participated in. Passion for the subject in your own personal life such as newspapers, magazines you subscribe to that feature this topic. Any time in which you took a personal interest in politics in your locale, group gatherings, events, discussion groups. You want to show proactive passion/knowledge in current affairs. If you participated in a rally...etc.

While I would agree that we're in trouble if we're fighting the battle of punctuality and hygiene -- are we? There's another way to consider this: that former Secretary Chao has an enormous disdain for low-income workers and the value of the work that they do. Not saying that's it, but you have to wonder when this is where she chooses to focus her attention.
