Perfect Labor Storm: A zero-sum game

More and more stories keep popping up in the news about the Perfect Labor Storm.

Michael Cohn, president of Light Industries, a Millersville (MD) technology firm, calls the labor market in his area "a zero-sum game."


"If we hire someone, they are going to go out and hire someone in the market," he said. "There's no pool of available skilled people."


He also said he worries that a larger contracting firm like Lockheed Martin might steal away his few highly skilled workers, adding that if he loses one person it costs $100,000 to replace them.
